Ylang ylang has an unmistakably fragrant, sweet floral character that works beautifully in diffusers, room fragrance and carefully diluted body-care blends. As a middle note, it adds depth and softness to citrus, resinous and woody essential oils, making it particularly useful when building more rounded aromatic combinations.

For massage or topical use, dilute 3–5 drops in 10ml of carrier oil. For diffusion, add 4–5 drops to cold water, or use 2–3 drops with hot water for inhalation. For bathing, add 5–10 drops to water or a suitable carrier oil before stirring into the bath. Ylang ylang also combines particularly well with myrrh and lime.
