Petitgrain essential oil has a fresh, balanced fragrance that brings together woody depth, gentle floral notes and a light citrus freshness. Its versatile middle-note character makes it particularly useful in aromatic blends, where it can bridge brighter citrus oils with floral, herbal and resinous notes.

For massage or topical use, dilute 3–5 drops in 10ml of carrier oil. For diffusion, add 4–5 drops to cold water, or use 2–3 drops with hot water for inhalation. For bathing, add 5–10 drops to water or a suitable carrier oil before stirring into the bath. Petitgrain blends particularly well with geranium, patchouli, frankincense and May Chang.
