A warm, resinous base note for richer aromatic blends

Benzoin has a distinctive sweet, balsamic aroma with warm resinous depth and a gentle vanilla-like note. Its lasting base-note character makes it particularly useful for anchoring essential oil blends, helping softer floral, green and citrus aromas develop around a deeper fragrance foundation.

For diffusion, add 4–8 drops, blending with lighter essential oils if desired. For massage, dilute 3–5 drops per 10ml of carrier oil. For carefully diluted skincare use, mix 1–2 drops with a carrier oil or balm, or add 5–8 drops to a suitable dispersible base before adding to warm bath water. Benzoin combines particularly well with geranium, bitter orange and lime.
