A lively citrus oil with a clean, refreshing character

Grapefruit essential oil has a crisp, recognisably citrus fragrance with tangy brightness and subtle softer notes. Its fresh top-note character works particularly well in diffusers and aromatic blends, where it can bring extra brightness to woody, floral and spicy essential oils.

For massage or topical use, dilute 3–5 drops in 10ml of carrier oil. For diffusion, add 4–5 drops to cold water, or use 2–3 drops with hot water for inhalation. For bathing, add 5–10 drops to water or a suitable carrier oil before stirring into the bath. Grapefruit combines especially well with black pepper, cypress, palmarosa and Ho Wood.
