Scots pine essential oil has a clean, recognisably pine-like fragrance with green, woody and gently resinous nuances. Its fresh aromatic profile works especially well in diffusers, room sprays and other home fragrance blends when a natural woodland-inspired scent is wanted.

For massage or topical use, dilute 3–5 drops in 10ml of carrier oil. For diffusion, add 4–5 drops to cold water, or use 2–3 drops with hot water for inhalation. For bathing, add 5–10 drops to water or a suitable carrier oil before stirring into the bath. Scots pine blends particularly well with spearmint, myrrh, rosemary and lemon.
