A lively herbal oil with spicy freshness

Basil essential oil has a distinctive herbal profile combining refreshing green notes with warm, spicy character. Its middle-note quality makes it useful on its own or within blends, particularly alongside citrus, floral, woody and resinous aromas.

For massage or topical use, dilute 3–5 drops in 10ml of carrier oil. For diffusion, add 4–5 drops to cold water, or use 2–3 drops with hot water for inhalation. For bathing, add 5–10 drops to water or a suitable carrier oil before stirring into the bath. Basil also pairs well with cedarwood, lavender and sweet orange.
